Marcus I just wanted to let you know how absolutely happy we are with the heat pump. It's hard to imagine the pool season ending! It is working so well, and the pool heats up rather quickly. At the end of August, we had a bout of rain and chilly weather. The pool temp dropped to about 74....with the dreary weather, I shut off the heater until it the forecast improved. The first nice day I flicked on the breaker. The following day I had the pool at a toasty 88 degrees! And we don't even run the pump at night. I love this unit!!! Thanks again Maurice S. | Mr Miller- The unit arrived Monday morning. The electrical work and plumbing were finished by noon Tuesday; the unit started right up and passed all the "tests" (water off, water on, etc.). We took your advice and installed a solar cover at the same time. We had opened the pool late this year (actually a week before we ordered the heater) and the water was way too cold for anyone to use it. The heat pump raised the temperature 12 degrees on the first day and another 10 degrees on the second! The kids are complaining that the water's too warm (the wife doesn't think so). In any case, it's obvious we will finally get the usage we always wanted out of the pool. Installation was straightforward; the directions were excellent (I should mention that the directions for assembling the solar cover reel made that task seem more difficult than installing the heat pump was). No difficulties were encountered. It may be a selling point for you to know that the total startup cost for a propane heater installation in NY is comparable to the cost of a heat pump. Marcus, The heat pump was installed on June 10th, and we couldn't be happier with the speed that it heated the water, the quietness of the unit, and even the appearance. We had our house sided last fall, and ironically, the heat pump yellow color is an exact match to our siding. We would have had it all installed before, but we had to expand the fencing around our pool equipment and add new cement pads for the heater and new filter. We set the heat pump with a minimum of 36" on all sides, so we'd be assured of proper air flow. I am so surprised at how little it has to operate to maintain the 85 degree temp we set it at, especially with the cool nights. The solar cover helps, but still the pump runs very little... It arrived at my home as promised, and after being installed the water temperature
was 80 degrees within 24 hours even though we had a cool week of weather.
The pool company who installed my heater said the heat pump had many good

Hi Marc - Just a quick note to let you know that my EUS Captain heat pump has now been installed .... very simple ... very quick ..... and I'm highly delighted. We switched it on yesterday mid-morning and this morning we swam in 33 deg C ... that's 90 of your deg.F! .... must turn the stat down a bit when Jill's not looking! The setting on the thermostat gauge is only on the lower end of ''warm'' ... mind you the ambient air temp is about 23C.Will be back in touch January for more units .... The delivery went well and the delivery person was helpful in that he brought the unit to my backyard to the installation spot. I did the plumbing hookup myself with the appropriate bypass piping. * I don't really have a bad feedback to post here because my customer didn't give me the ok to publish it. I sold him a heater 6 years ago and someone had stepped on one of the PVC pipes that was attached to the heat pump. As a result it broke the heat exchanger. In a series of 4 or 5 emails, I was working with him to find the best way to handle this as his parts warranty had expired a year before. As I was contacting the manufacturer to see if we could get the parts to him for the wholesale cost. He told me he was going to start a website explaining how dissatisfied he was with the manufacturer's engineering ability and also me and my company. I offered to save him the trouble by asking him if I could post his emails on my website to air his disappointment and give the site some sort of balance to the positive emails that we have received. He did not respond to my emails after that point, so I took that as a no. The same thing happened a few years ago, I had an "engineer" explained to me in a long email why heat pumps didn't work. I was so impressed with his passion, that I asked him too if I could post his thoughts on my site. A renegade engineer who has discovered something that the best engineers had overlooked all this years needs to have a forum to get his ideas out. I thought.
