Our Digital Display Live Camera

When you are looking at the Heat Siphon heat pump digital display camera, you will notice that you have AIR  In and AIR Out thermostats displays showing the respective air temperature each.
The IN censor is located on the side of the heater, attached to the metal mesh that protects the evaporator coil, so this tells the Real actual air temp that is being sucked into the heater while it's running.
The OUT censor is located down inside the cabinet top, right next to the fan blades, so it is reading the temperature of the the air coming "OUT" of the heater.

In the event that the heater is OFF or not running, the air sensors will not always be the same because the sensors can be effected by the sun and direct heat off the metal of the heater, showing an incorrect temperature reading of the outside air.  Also, the water IN & Out temps will be really close to each other, like 0.2 to 0.4 degrees, that is just because the thermometers are not exactly the same, it does not mean the heater is heating the water by 0.2 to 0.4 or cooling the pool by that much either.

When the heater is ON, running and the air is flowing, then the sensors will accurately show the air temperature. You can also see that the Air temp is usually about 8-13 degrees cooler then the air temp coming IN. The water temp is about 2.6 to 4.0 degrees warmer coming out of the heater, then going in.

The two air thermometers will usually both show the same temperature at night, when the sun is NOT directly hitting the sensors.

Please note that all of our sensor thermometers are never perfectly the same with each other. They can be 1-2 degrees OFF from each other.  Basically, if you take 2 thermometers out of a package and sit them in a room together, side by side, they SHOULD say the exact same temp, like 77.1 on both, but they are never that perfect, they are usually off by 1 degree or less, that's just normal.

Please note that when the heater says "low flow" it is because the water pump timer has shut the system down for the night. Also even though the heater might be running at 35 degrees the factory will not guarantee that the heater will work below 42 degrees. We also don't want to disappoint you if your heater is not running at that temperature. That is just a bonus, as most heat pumps without an active defrost shut down at 50 degrees and Heat Siphon's shut down at about 42 degrees.
