Swimming Pool Gifts for Mom!

If you liked this post, say thanks by sharing it.

swimming pool gifts for momSunday is Mother’s Day.  A day to celebrate those women in our lives that selflessly give of their time, their energy, and their hearts for those they love.

Flowers, jewelry, macaroni necklaces, and chocolates are all nice ways to show your love to mom.  BUT let’s be real – what do mom’s really want?

1. An uninterrupted nap!  Sleep – the most cherished gift of all!  Why not purchase her a floating lounge chair for the pool – and give her at least a few uninterpreted hours to enjoy it!

2. Not having to clean for a day!  Maybe its time to buy an automatic pool cleaner, to at least mark off one area of the home that she won’t have to clean…. and of course, clean the house yourself for at least a day  :)

3. A day at the spa!  Quiet, relaxation, tranquility.  Three great words that many women never to get to learn the meaning of.  Of course getting away might not always be feasible, so getting her a pool heat pump to make your pool a soothing & relaxing oasis might be second best.

T-minus 3 days until Mother’s Day!  Be sure to spoil those women in your life!!!  Make it even sweet with swimming pool gifts for mom!

Replacing Pool Heaters after Hurricane Sandy

If you liked this post, say thanks by sharing it.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, many folks quickly found out what their homeowners and renters insurance covered – and what it didn’t.  Most pool owners found that flood insurance rarely covers swimming pools, spas, and pool heaters.

In November, The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP), the world’s largest pool, spa and hot tub trade association, offered advice for swimming pool and hot tub owners, that were affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Below is their release:

Most likely pool and hot tubs owners are not thinking about their pools and hot tubs in the days following the big storm. However, Bill Weber, APSP president and CEO encourages all owners to consider the following information:

  • Standing water in a pool or hot tub can be hazardous and unhealthy, breeding mosquitoes which are associated with West Nile Virus (probably not a problem in late fall, but worth consideration in Southern states).
  • Pool or hot tub covers damaged or missing from the hurricane could pose a drowning hazard.
  • Pools that have been winterized prior to the hurricane should be considered for re-inspection.

“By being aware of the information above, pool and hot tub owners can make their home and backyard safer,” said Weber. “And at a time when some affected families are frustrated with clean up after the storm, they should be comforted that APSP members are willing and ready to assist.”

A couple months after accessing the damage to their homes and trying to pick up and put back the pieces, many are now addressing their needs for their pools and pool heaters.  If you were affected by Hurricane Sandy and are currently looking to replace your swimming pool heater, please give us a call.  We would like to help you find the right heater for your situation.  Please be sure to mention you were affected by the Hurricane.  We know that finances are tough for many in the hurricane’s path and we hope to help how we can!

4 seasons of the year

Did you know that you can heat a swimming pool year round?  Typical swimming pool heat pumps shut down between 45 and 50 degrees depending on brand, location, weather and other factors. Depending on the application, Heat & Cool heat pumps can operate at lower temperatures, sometimes as low as 35 degrees!

If you are interested in extending your swim season and using a more economical heating solution for your pool, check out the various heat pumps we have!

Summer, why have you forsaken me?

If you liked this post, say thanks by sharing it.

If you are like me, you enjoy the beauty of what Fall brings, but get very sad that summer is ending!  And if you are pool owner, the summer-end can bring even more disappointment. If you are looking for a way to extend your summer, there are a number of great options available!

Swimming pool heat pumps, gas heaters, solar heaters and solar covers can all help to  increase the amount of time you and your family can enjoy your pool!

Heat pumps are an economical and reliable heating source for your pool!

Gas heaters are a quick-heat option for your pool, though not as financially economical in the long run.

Solar heaters are a cost-efficient method of non-electric pool heating for those that live in areas with a lot of sun, are okay with not having control of their exact water temperature, and can be flexible when they swim on days that the panels don’t keep the water warm enough. We love a heat pump as the primary heater with a solar back up to take the edge off the water.

Solar covers are can be used with all types of heaters to help retain heat in your pool.

No matter which route you take, our pool heaters can help you keep the ‘summer going’ into the Fall!
