Troubleshooting Guide For Nirvana Pool Heat Pumps

Problem:

Digital control displays

CODE: FLO

Cause:
The water flow inside the heat pump is insufficient
There is no water circulation inside the heat pump
The flow switch is defective

What to do:
Check that the circulating pump is working;
Check that the bypass valves are properly positioned;
Check the skimmer (no blockage);
Check the water pressure gauge of the heat pump, it should read between 10 and 15 psi.

Problem:
Digital control displays CODE FL3

Cause:
The heat pump flow switch has cut off three (3) times in the same hour for one of the three reasons above.

What do I do:
The heat pump will not re-start after one of the protection devices shuts it down for the third time in the same hour; Close the circuit breaker to reset the heat pump.

Problem:
Digital control says CODE:LP

Cause:
Ventilation on the evaporator is insufficient. The fan does not work. Freon leak, The outside temperature is very low.

What to do:
Check that the evaporator is not blocked by pollen, grass, leaves; see the user's manual for safety and maintenance tips. Be sure there is enough free space around the heat pump (see installation guide). Check that the fan is powered ON.

Problem:
Digital control displays CODE:LP3

Cause:
The heat pump low pressure switch has cut off three (3) times in the same hour for one of the the reasons above.

What to do:

The heat pump not re-start after one of the protection devices shuts it down for the third time in the same hour.

Close the circuit breaker to reset the heat pump.

Cause:
The water flow inside the heat pump is insufficient. The bypass valve is in the wrong position. The water exit is blocked. There is a blockage in the refrigeration circuit (piping blocked)

What to do:

Check whether there is adequate water circulation inside. Check that the bypass valves are properly positioned. Check whether anything is blocking the water hose.

Problem:

Digital code displays CODE:HP3

CAUSE:
The heat pump high pressure switch has cut off three (3) times in the same hour for one of the reasons above.

What to do:
The heat pump will not re-start after one of the protective devices shuts it down for the third time in the same hour. Close the circuit breaker to reset the pump.

Problem:
Digital control displays CODE SPI

Cause:
The digital control is defective

What to do:
Close the breaker switch and re-open it. if the problem is not resolved, the digital control will have to be changed. In this case, call your dealer.
